Selecting a label substrate can be simple with the help from the AMS Team. There are thousands of combinations of substrates and adhesives out there and choosing the right one is critical to your label’s performance. The AMS Team will help guide you to the perfect substrate and adhesive combination. Below is a listing of common label substrate stocks we have in our inventory.

2.6 Mil White BOPP

White BOPP is our most commonly used material. It is a white, biaxially-oriented polypropylene film with a permanent adhesive for rigid containers where durability is needed. It is impervious to water and oils, and is particularly suitable for food and beverage products.

2.0 Mil TC Clear Polypropylene

Biaxially oriented polypropylene, non-cavitated film with a “no label” look (when manufactured with a clear adhesive). This film has high machine direction stiffness and tensile strength, which produces excellent matrix stripping and highspeed label dispensing properties.

3.2 Mil Silver Metallized Paper

A smooth bright silver metallized paper with the appearance of foil. Has excellent tear strength and opacity, heat and chemical resistant, and are suitable for application on a variety of surfaces.

60# Semi Gloss

High quality, high brightness, highly opaque, semi gloss facestock with excellent gloss level. Base sheet contains archival properties, is elemental chlorine free and lignin free. It features excellent ink anchorage and high strength for die cutting and matrix stripping.

Estate Label® No.8

Estate Label®#8 is a 60# wet strength bright white vellum paper that provides a printed appearance ideal for wine, high-end beverages and gourmet foods. The surface has been optimized for printing pressure sensitive labels.

4 mil White Stone Paper

Stone Paper consisting of 80% calcium carbonate, which is a base mineral and inorganic compound and 20% polyethylene resin to create an environmentally friendly paper. Along with all of these sustainable advantages, this paper is top coated, water-resistant and inherently strong and durable.

All label artwork should be set up to have an additional 1/8" (0.0625" around each edge - 0.125" total) to be properly diecut.
